Collect Pop Tabs and Help Support Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Charlotte
This June, Whitehall Estates Apartments in Charlotte, North Carolina invites our residents and neighbors to take part in a simple yet impactful act of kindness: collecting the small aluminum tabs you pull from soda, soup, and other cans. Known as “pop tabs,” these tiny items can make a big difference for families supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Charlotte.
 
How to Participate
  1. Save Your Tabs – Start Collecting Today
Designate a clean container at home, work, or school to begin saving your aluminum pop tabs. We accept tabs of all types and colors—as long as they’re aluminum!
 
  1. Spread the Word
Share the Whitehall Estates Pop Top Drive event with friends, coworkers, classmates, and local organizations. The more people who participate in June, the greater the impact we can have. Every tab counts.
 
  1. Drop Off Your Tabs by June 30
Deliver your collected tabs to the Whitehall Estates Apartments leasing office anytime during our regular office hours through Monday, June 30.

Pop tabs are often discarded without a second thought—but when collected in large quantities, they become a valuable resource. RMHC Greater Charlotte partners with commercial recyclers who weigh the aluminum tabs and convert them into funds that help provide vital services to local families with children receiving medical care.
 
In fact, pop tabs are more valuable per ounce than entire cans because they contain a higher concentration of aluminum. They’re also easier to store and transport, making them ideal for community-wide collection drives.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Charlotte provides comfort, care, and critical support to families of sick or injured children receiving medical treatment in Charlotte, North Carolina. Last year alone, RMHC Greater Charlotte served nearly 6,000 families and provided over 17,000 meals with the help of more than 38,000 volunteer hours.
